Week 9

Since we had learnt restaurant courtesies in the previous class, we had to make groups of seven and come up a name, menu and a basic line of conversation that could take place at a restaurant. It took a while to formalise the assignment and even longer to actually convert it into Spanish. It wasn’t too hard either as ma’am helped us a lot along the way. This assignment helped me a lot when it came to remembering it on the long run. It was fun and knowledgeable at the same time.

Week 8

We learnt basic restaurant terms for the most part of class. Asking for water, few food items, spoon, fork, etc are few of the things we learnt. Apart from this we also revised the gender differences and the greetings once more. I felt ordering in a restaurant, etc is what one will need when going abroad and that teaching such things is what will actually help when it comes to speaking the language.

Week 7

We had a test on the basic Spanish that we had learnt up until then. It consisted of simple Spanish to English translations, greetings, and gender differentiation including their singular and plural forms. It was a fairly easy test and I felt I did reasonably well.

Week 6

We learnt the gender differentiation for each object and in Spanish objects ante classified into either male or female. To get a better grasp of the topic, ma’am made is say the greeting and answer simple questions individually. We went through few more more objects and adjectives and classified then into their respective genders. We also learnt the singular and plural forms for the classifications.
